Ambarella Fruit

The ambarella fruit scientific name is Spondias Cytherea. It is native to South Pacific. The fruit in oblong shape with greenish to yellowish color and about the orange or apple size. The flesh is juicy, firm and pale yellow color. The fruit tasted acidic between flavor of kiwi and mango with crunchy texture.

How the Ambarella Fruit Tree Look?

In Malaysia, it is grown huge at Penang and Perak. The ambarella tree can grow from 40 to 60 feet tall. The ambarella only planted at humid tropical or subtropical country with ample rainfall like Malaysia. The tree grow well in a wide variety of soil types as long as it is drained. Its pinnate leaves length in 20 to 60cm, it turn from green to bright yellow before falling. The small white flowers are borne in bunches with female, male within each cluster. Its oval fruit and produce in bunches. The long stalked fruit produced in bunches of a dozen or more. The fruit start to fall in greenish color and hard skin, it is turning to golden yellow while it is ripen.
