What is Mango


The mango fruit scientific name Murr Mangifera indica L from species family species Anacardiaceae. Mango fruit native to southern Asia. This fruit is usually eaten raw flesh. The fruit shape ovary or kidney shaped depend of is cultivar and 2 to 9 inches long .The leathery skin is waxy and smooth, and when ripe entirely pale green or yellow marked according to cultivar. The flavor is pleasant in sweet or sour type. Most people enjoy eating the residual flesh from the seed.



Varieties of mango tree


Over 500 named varieties (some say 1,000) have evolved but at least 350 are propagated in commercial nurseries. In Malaysia, below is the some varieties of mango fruit:


1. Tong Dum- leathery skin color from dark-green and kidney shape but no long as Brahm Kai Meu.


2. Carrie- leathery skin colour from orange flesh green to yellow and shaped ovary. Sweet with highly aromatic flavor.


3. Brahm Kai Meu leathery skin color from dark-green and kidney shape.Very sweet and crunchy as an apple.


4. Nam Doc Mai leathery skin color from Green to bright yellow . Very sweet, aromatic and juicy
Fruit.

5. Okrung leathery skin color from green to yellow. The fruit is juicy sweet sour flavor.

6. Pim Seng Mun leathery skin color from green to yellow. The fruit was crunchy, crisp texture with sour flavor.

How Mango Tree look Like?


The mango is suitable grown at tropical country with dry and warn condition temperature no less then 40 F fruit. The mango tree can reached 9 to 25 meter height. Mango tree are monocots and self-fertile without need cross pollination to reap a fruit. The fruit only ripen after 90 to 130 days after flowering. The tree only reap a fruit around 4 to 5 years. Full grown dark green leave may long 10-30cm with wide 2 to 5cm. In Malaysia, the fruit planted huge is Perak, Perlis and kedah.
